Security vetting
In accordance with the Police Act 1997, Cintra's policy is that all interpreters must undergo an enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check before they are entered onto our database of practising interpreters. Interpreters recruited directly from the National Register of Public Service Interpreters (NRPSI) may have either standard or enhanced CRB clearance. These checks are intended to provide information on applicants for jobs which are exceptions to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974, as the interpreters' job includes working with vulnerable adults and children. Cintra is a registered body for carrying out CRB checks. The check must be renewed every three years.
Counter Terrorism Checks (CTC) are also carried out when required by our clients.
For all candidate interpreters, checks are carried out in accordance with the amendment to section 8 of the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996 to ensure that candidates have the legal right to work in the UK.
