Translation

Cintra has an available pool of over 300 highly qualified translators in 64 languages, holding qualifications such as the Institute of Linguists Diploma in Translation (DipTrans), registration with the Institute of Translators and Interpreters (ITI) and member status (MITI), membership of the Chartered Institute of Linguists and other recognised qualifications, such as a university degree in translation. Cintra does not use unqualified or partially qualified translators.

We are able to accept very large and very small translation jobs. All our work is carried out to agreed deadlines. All work will be treated as confidential and all documents will be stored in a secure environment.

For some communities, other media such as video may be more appropriate and effective than written translation. Cintra is able to produce audio recordings.

All documents will be translated by a native speaker of the target language (the language the document is to be translated into). Cintras quality assurance procedures include proof-reading, and our translators are subject to the same confidentiality and data protection standards as our interpreters.

Cintra will deliver translations in the same format as the original document, as long as the original is in an editable format such as MS Word, Excel or PowerPoint. If we receive the document by post, fax or in a non-editable format such as PDF or JPEG, we will provide the translation in MS Word and reproduce basic formatting such as tables, text boxes, columns, fonts etc. We will provide translations in PDF on request, including where you do not have the fonts to display the target language characters or script in MS Word.

Cintra can provide certified translations of official documents such as marriage or birth certificates, or academic records. To provide a certified translation we must see the original document or you must provide us with a certified copy. Our certification will be guaranteed valid for government bodies and academic institutions within the UK only.

Please note that a translation certified by Cintra is not the same as a notarised or sworn translation. Our certification states that the translation has been done by a qualified translator, and that it is a true translation of the original document. If your translation needs to be notarised or you need to provide a sworn translation to an institution or government body abroad, please contact your embassy or consulate for advice.
