The main activities are:
- one to one and small group training and support using specialist equipment
- one to one and small group training and support in computer and internet skills
- personal development and progression for users
- advice and information on specialist equipment available to users and professionals
- regular bookings available for groups from day centres and group homes
- opportunities for users to become project volunteers, supporting new users
The project will:
- enable progression by providing training in new skills and providing links to other organisations offering volunteer opportunities, training and support into employment in a variety of fields
- provide opportunities for equality, independence, fuller participation, information, education and leisure, reducing isolation
- demonstrate that IT is a tool for equality
- raise awareness of the potential of computers
- encourage active involvement of users in the development of the project
Learning new skills will enable users to gain confidence, broaden horizons, raise expectations and improve quality of life.
