Millennium Project
No-one could have imagined what it would all lead to when PACT was
approached in 2000 about creating a Millennium mosaic, but the
result is now there for your enjoyment. The Millennium Garden was
officially opened by the Mayor on Tuesday 25th June 2002.

Millennium Gardens

The PACT Millennium Garden is the fruit of the inspiration,
dedication, and generosity of PACT committee members and the
Petersfield community, and was made possible by the skills of
Cambridge City Council and a grant from the Environmental
Improvement Fund. |
It can be found on the corner between Norfolk Street and
St.Matthew's Street, next to the dental surgery. What used to be a
patch of bleak and depressing concrete ... |

... is now a lovely landscaped
garden, with bicycle racks and attractive railings, arches, and a
special lantern: and the garden is filled with over 50 varieties of
plants that will become more glorious as they mature.

The First Mosaic

By the time of the opening, the first of two mosaics, created by
clients of Ditchburn Day Centre, was framed and installed as the
Garden's visual centrepiece. |
On 1st July 2004, the second mosaic was unveiled by the incumbent mayor:
