L.S.D.

The Drug

L.S.D. is known amongst users as `acid' or `trips' and it is usually either small pills called microdots or small squares of paper called tabs. Most trips sold on the street are tabs, they have pictures on them like strawberries and hearts, or some might have cartoon characters printed on them.

What it does to the mind and body

L.S.D. is a powerful hallucinogenic drug, this means that L.S.D. distorts the way you see things. You could end up seeing, feeling or tasting things that are really horrible or you could have a good time and end up cracking up with laughter, the trouble is you never really know how the trip will effect you.

One very important thing to remember is that the kind of mood or how you are feeling when you take L.S.D. will effect your trip. If you are with people you don't know very well or you are not really comfortable with, will result in a bad time.

A trip only takes 1 hour to work but can last for 12 hours, this could mean a 12 hour nightmare if you have a bad one. Once your trip has started there is no way of stopping it.

The Law and L.S.D.

All forms of L.S.D are controlled by the Misuse of Drugs Act (1971). This means L.S.D. is not allowed, it is illegal and is a class A drug: which means that if you are in possession of the drug you could get a jail sentence of 7 years plus a fine of £1000: or LIFE in prison if you have large amounts and selling it to others, this is called trafficking.
