> home > about COLC > who's who > volunteers Volunteers COLC is extremely grateful to and appreciative of the many people who have supported and who continue to support this project. Without their sustained contribution, COLC would be unable to deliver its services so effectively. Although not strictly speaking volunteers, COLC values very highly the tireless efforts of the front-line staff and managers at COLC's public access points. These are the people who keep an eye on COLC's equipment on a daily basis, take bookings from members of the public for independent use and for tutorials, and also answer the plethora of questions that can arise from the delivery of a widespread service to the community. At present COLC receives the support of a team of volunteers who deliver many free one-to-one internet tutorials per month. This is a fluctuating group, some of whom have already been working with COLC for as much as two years, others of whom may participate for periods of only a few weeks during a study visit to Cambridge. The Pathways Project has its own small team of able-bodied and disabled volunteers to support new users. COLC knows of a few dedicated local individuals who are able and willing to help local voluntary organizations design and create webpages. Finally, another group of volunteers played a crucial role in the development of this version of the COLC website. Without their enormous painstaking efforts, this overhauled website would still be a pipe dream. COLC would very much like to thank Karen Alexander, Damien Golding, Emma-Jane Burton, Jonathan Fine, Mick Lynch, Colin Macer, Bob Salmon, Ian Sanders, Victoria Schiffmann, Stephen von Schreiber, David Shortt and, in particular, Jo Edkins (and family!).
