I studied music at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and then specialised in the cello at the Royal Academy of Music in London.
Solo work has taken me to Switzerland and Belgium, particularly with the choir, Cambridge Voices, with whom I gave the first performances of Carl Ruetti's "Lieder der Liebe".
Last year I performed the complete Bach Gamba Sonatas with the pianist, Ian de Massini, and I have recently performed pieces by Bartok, Martinu, Janacek and Dvorak at Hughes Hall, in Cambridge, and given a recital of unaccompanied works,"Perspectives on the Bach Suites" at Clare Hall, Cambridge.
I organise concerts locally in Cambridge with friends, under the banner, "Cerberus plays.....". We perform two or three times a year at the Church of St Edward King & Martyr.
I am a busy cello teacher, giving private lessons to a range of pupils aged 7 - 70+ and from complete beginners to diploma standard. Additional tuition for theory and aural training is offered, along with monthly ensemble classes and occasional workshops to perform and discuss pieces in front of other pupils and with a pianist.
