I read music at St Catharine's College, Cambridge, and then specialised in the cello at the Royal Academy of Music, London, with David Strange. I continued my studies with Joan Dickson and William Pleeth. I undertake both solo work and chamber music, and last year performed for the Cambridge Szeged Society and Anglia Ruskin University. Recent concerts with my chamber ensemble, Cerberus, have included repeat performances of Messiaen's "Quartet for the End of Time" in Cambridge and Edinburgh.

As a cello teacher I give private lessons to pupils aged from 6 to over 70, from complete beginners to diploma standard. Music theory and aural training are also offered. One to one tuition can be supplemented with ensemble classes, and I occasionally run workshops which give pupils a chance to perform with piano accompaniment in front of their peers.
