Strictly speaking, the Millennium Garden is not in Gwydir Street, but it's close-by. It is situated at the corner of Norfolk Street and St. Mathews Street. Originally, this was just pavement. It is now a landscaped garden. It was opened in June 2002 by the mayor, at a party organised by Petersfield Area Community Trust.

The mosaic was created by clients of Ditchburn Day Centre. The signpost in the middle points to Mill Road Cemetery, St Matthews Piece, Fenners and Ditchburn Place. It represents Petersfield Open Spaces.

The unveiling of the second mosaic in 2004

A second mosaic was made for the garden by four young adults from thePapworth Trust and clints from the Cherry Trees Day Centre. It represents the community spirit and diversity within Petersfield. It was unveiled by the Mayor of Cambridge in July 2004. Plenty of food and drink was provided by local businesses, music by the Mad Hatters, and a good time was had by all.
