Who can use Dial-a-Ride?
If you find it difficult to use public transport, do not have your own transport and live in the Cambridge area. Your difficulty may be physical or sensory.
 
Which area does it cover?
We start in the morning at the outer villages and call at other villages on our way into Cambridge, where there will be several drop off points in the city. If you would like to visit a friend on the route we can drop you off there. We will not be stopping at bus stops. It is a door to door service and members will need to book their journey in advance. The minibus will return after lunch and again drop members off at their door.

b) Melbourne Harston Hauxton

2nd Wednesday of each monthLinton

NB. These routes are subject to change depending on interest and take up.

The service is available for anyone living in these areas who is elderly or disabled and does not have access to either a car or public transport. We are unable to cater for Hospital Appointments.

Can I bring a friend?
You can bring a friend or member of the family as an escort also a guide dog if you have one. Fares for escorts will be the same as for other passengers.
 
How much will it cost? 
A return journey costs £4.30. This charge is the same for members and also the escort. Charges will be reviewed from time to time.
 
Safety and Security? 
The minibus will call at your door and the driver will help you on board and bring you back home safely. The minibus is fitted with tail lift, wheelchair clamps and seatbelts.
 
How Do I  Book a Journey?
Telephone 01223-506335 between 9am and 12noon, Monday-Friday. You can book up to 6 days in advance. We also require a minimum of 24hrs notice. Unlike taxis we cannot take same day bookings.
 
If you have to cancel please give as much notice as possible. There is no cancellation charge.
 
Do I have to register?
Yes, telephone the office for a registration form.
