Cambridge Clubhouse Units

UPSTAIRS UNIT

Work in this area includes: word processing, collating Clubhouse statistics. Production of the Clubhouse newsletter and other Clubhouse literature, Outreach work -contacting members who have stopped coming to the clubhouse to see if they are O.K. Networking with outside agencies, in order to tell them about what the clubhouse offers. Liasing with other clubhouses, Clubhouse research doing postal work.

Dark room
Taking and processing photographs using the clubhouse darkroom.

Resource room
Work in this area includes: providing up to date articles and information on the Clubhouse movement.

Accounts room
We are currently developing a room in which all clubhouse finances are dealt with.


Notelets like this are made by members and are available at the Thrift shop.


DOWNSTAIRS UNIT

Kitchen and snack bar
A Daily cooked meal (main course and dessert) is provided for �1.50. Work in this area includes; shopping, menu planning, food preparation manning the snack bar, cleaning of the unit etc. The snack bar offers beverages and a variety of snacks sold at cost.

Reception
Manning reception-duties include greeting visitors and answering the telephone.

The Thrift shop
Is open daily to the general public, and is manned by clubhouse members. It sells second hand clothes, bric a brac and craft goods. All money raised goes into the clubhouse membership fund and helps pay for clubhouse training and activities such as day trips and holidays.

Art and Craft Work
Making products to sell in the clubhouse thrift shop, including decorated glassware, jewelry, greeting cards, papier mache vases and bowls and individual art work.

Gardening
Our garden is lovingly tended by members in the downstairs unit

Tour Guide Work
Showing visitors and potential members around the clubhouse, and explaining the clubhouse philosophy (this is done by members from both units)
