In the beginning

When COLC was set up, little locally relevant information was available on the internet. Most of what was to be found was provided by Cambridge University and was aimed at its staff, students, and visitors. There was a clear need for easy-to-use information about local activities, local services, accommodation, benefits, and employment, as well as entertainment and tourism. Much information needed to be assembled from scratch to make it available online.
