Helping New Users

In addition to the advice COLC provides on this website to people who are new to the Internet, COLC volunteers provide many free one-to-one tutorials every month at several easy-to-reach locations. These can be booked either by phone or by dropping in. You are very welcome to come along either on your own or with a friend. COLC volunteers have introduced the internet to people of all ages, many of whom have never touched a computer before.

At a typical tutorial, you are shown how to use the computer, keyboard and mouse. The tutor sits by your side and introduces you to using the internet and to email. Some first-time users book an extra session or two with their tutor. Demand for COLC one-to-one tutorials is always high, so plan ahead!
