There are two training programs from the BBC on the Cambridge Online free access points . They can help you to learn about computers and the internet. There is also an online tutorial available to all.

Computers Don't Bite

Computers Don't Bite starts right at the beginning. It shows you how to use a mouse and a keyboard, how to create text, and even how to 'drag and drop'. You will learn what this all means once you have done this program! Practical exercises help make sense of the new terms. Computers Don't Bite will not teach you how to use any particular type of computer program (like word processing, or how to use the internet). It will, however, teach you what you need to know before you start using such programs.

Webwise

Webwise provides an introduction to the internet. It offers sections on email and 'the web', with practical exercises. It teaches about the internet using examples drawn from the internet. Webwise also provides some advice about getting online. This assumes that you have your own computer and want to use the internet at home.
