  • COMPUTING Giving 1:1 support in helping individuals gain basic skills in order to participate in an office service enterprise.
  • NEEDLECRAFT A variety of voluntary option's in a enterprise providing marketable products for sale in Papworth Craft Shop and market stalls
  • WOODWORK Giving 1:1 assistance in small woodwork group producing Garden furniture, Bird feeders, and household items
  • GARDENING Assist a small group sowing, weeding,

    Organisation's Goals: Papworth Progression Programmes provide daytime activities for people with physical and/ or mild learning disabilities. The key to the programme is that people are encouraged to develop their skills and confidence to fulfil their ambition at their own pace. This may include work experience, participation or team enterprises, training for independant living and educational classes

    ADDENBROOKES VOLUNTARY SERVICES DEPARTMENT

    The best help is done when others silently help.

  • NEWSPAPER SERVICE. Hear the latest Taking newspaper orders from the patients around the wards

  • FLOWER SERVICE: Everbody loves flowers. Helping to arrange patient' flowers in vases.

  • CLINICS Assist with general duties attached to specific clinics

  • GUIDES Help guide and escort patients around Outpatients Hall and Medical Admissions Clinics and wards respectively.

  • PLACEMENTS WORKING WITH CHILDREN Assist in the ADDENBROKE'S and ROSIE outpatients play areas and schoolroom.

  • VISITORS: A selected number of volunteers who are willing to chat to patients who may need a little company.

  • BEFRIENDING: Volunteers may be involved in befriending(taking a special interest) Patients either on a one to one or as part of a group. (Fulbourn Hospital)

  • DRIVERS: Bring patients, relatives, to hospital - this service is reimbursed

  • W R V S: Volunteers run the outpatients and Clinical Oncology Canteens, providing a trolley service on the wards two or three afternoons a week.

  • ST JOHN AND RED CROSS LIBRARY : Helpers provide a mobile trolley service to the wards two afternoons a week and take maginazines to waiting rooms

  • RADIO ADDENBROOKES: Collecting requests from the wards and may after suitable traing help with radio shows.

  • FRIENDS GROUP: We are fortunate to have friends of Rosie Maternity Hospital, Friends of Fulbourn, Friends of the unit of the Elderly, Friends ofRheumatology Research Rehab 77 Club. Tese volunteers run tea bars and refreshment trolleys and help raise funds both in and outside the hospital to buy aids and comforts for our patients.

    Indivduals are asked to commit themsleves on a regular basis
